Best Young Guitarists 40ish and Under
Hello there! I love guitar music. And I love love the guitar. The variety of sounds and tones you can make and the sweep of notes you can play is just amazing. It's like an orchestra you can sling across your back. I love electrics. I love acoustics. I just love it! The sound of the guitar simply inspires me.
I've been playing the instrument for about 20 years, but I'm really not very good. I don't really have the patience or the dedication to get really good. But I have so much admiration and respect for those whose love for the guitar is so deep that it almost becomes part of them. An extension of their voice and their fingers and their spirits. So I'm always on the lookout for young and/or new guitarists to inspire and fascinate me. But most of the lists I find on the internet are pretty disappointing. I'm looking for next level players who play with passion and artistry and love. Players who are creative and intuitive and technical in flashes..but not flashy. Most "best young guitarist" lists I've seen on this here internet machine are full of flashy noodlers or cold, mechanical technicians...or just plain average.
So I set out on adventure through Google Land to uncover all of the best young guitarists I could find. And I came up with my own list. So this is just the first in a series of blog posts where I will reveal some of my favorite young guitarists and discuss a bit about what makes them great! So follow along if this is something that interests you. I'm listing them in no particular order, but I'll write a bit more about the 8-10 or so guitar players I like the most.
Oh. Also. I set the cutoff for "young" at 40. In my opinion, 40 is still plenty young. I've seen people make the limit 30, but I just feel like you're leaving off way too many great players. And some of these players, I honestly don't know their age, so I set the limit at 40-ish.
Ok. Here we go...
